Go the distance
I have often dreamed of a far off place.
*****
Where a hero's welcome, would be waiting for me
Where the crowds will cheer, when they see my face
And a voice keeps saying, this is where I'm meant to be
I'll be there someday, I can go the distance
I will find my way, if I can be strong
I know every mile, will be worth my while
When I go the distance, I'll be right where I belong
Down an unknown road to embrace my fate
Though that road may wander, it will lead me to you
And a thousand years, would be worth the wait
It might take a lifetime, but somehow I'll see it through
And I won't look back, I can go the distance
And I'll stay on track, no, I won't accept defeat
It's an uphill slope, but I won't lose hope
Till I go the distance, and my journey is complete
But to look beyond the glory is the hardest part
For a hero's strength is measured by his heart
Like a shooting star, I will go the distance
I will search the world, I will face its harms
I don't care how far, I can go the distance
Till I find my hero's welcome, waiting in your arms

this is michael bolton song, soundtrack-nya film Hercules. Yes, yang anaknya dewa Zeus di mitologi yunani yang super kuat itu. Somehow, its just fit us, people, that perhaps, searching for their own definition about 'hero' and in many ways are trying to have the title 'hero'. people cheering, people clapping, people adoring, mudah2an gak jadi tujuan, karena ya emang buat apa juga. won't make any benefit for us :)
and just like this song, to be a hero, all we have to do is 'go the distance'. karena jalan menjadi 'pahlawan' bukan dengan mangap tangan nengadah diem di tempat genjreng gitar, itu mah ngamen, hehe. banyak hal harus dilakukan, banyak tempat harus didatangi, banyak uang (mungkin) keluar, banyak energi bakal terkuras. but hey, like the song said: "I know every mile, will be worth my while" gak akan ada yang sia-sia, insyaAllah, asal dalam kerangka yang benar.
dan satu hal yang membuat seseorang jadi 'hero' ; keengganan untuk menyerah kalah. the song said: "And I'll stay on track, no, I won't accept defeat. It's an uphill slope, but I won't lose hope". jalannya pasti susah, tapi dia gak akan kehilangan yang namanya harapan. Backing-nya kuat, kenapa harus takut, kenapa harus ragu, kenapa harus kehilangan harapan? :)
"It might take a lifetime, but somehow I'll see it through"
Kita yang dhaif (lemah), hallu'a (banyak berkeluh-kesah), dan segala penyakit 'ke-manusia-annya' harus selalu berdo'a, mudah2an diberikan kekuatan, in every step. kaya kata buku di 'from zero to hero' : kesuksesan itu adalah milik mereka yang menggantungkan kepada yang Maha Besar.
Astagfirullah.
just like what you have said,
Somehow, its just fit us, people, that perhaps, searching for their own definition about 'hero' and in many ways are trying to have the title 'hero'. people cheering, people clapping, people adoring, mudah2an gak jadi tujuan, karena ya emang buat apa juga. won't make any benefit for us :)
kalo udah dapet gelar 'hero', buat apa jika ternyata gak bisa menyelamatkan dunia dan akhirat..
jadi ngerasa pembukaan dua kali nih, hahaha.
very proud of you, adik sayang :)
